In the first orthopaedic conference of its kind, Enable Ireland and Straight Ahead will combine forces to present a conference focused on orthopaedic and spasticity management children with disabilities.
The conference aims to raise awareness of paediatric neuro-orthopaedic conditions and to promote best practice in the area of spasticity and orthopaedic management.
Identifying best practice in this area and implementing a national screening protocol will ultimately improve the quality of life of children and young people in Ireland.
In countries where such protocols exist the instances of unnecessary pain and serious complications are significantly reduced.
The conference is aimed at physiotherapists, occupational therapists, orthopaedic consultants, paediatricians, doctors, and nurses and HSE staff and .6 CPD points have been granted by RCSI.and certificates will be given out on the day.

Irish Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons Mr Pat Kiely & Mr Colm Taylor will be speaking on the day.
Mr Jos du Cat, Senior Bobath Tutor will also be speaking.
